HELP GET THE WORD OUT!

KNIGHTS OF COLUMBUS #7243 CHARITY AUCTION

OCTOBER 7TH THROUGH OCTOBER 10TH

The following information is per an email from Your Charity Auction (YCA) Administrator  Mikala Shumway to DGK Bob Mohle. Mikala and Mary Peterson provided an overview of the  online auction and how it works prior to our May 10th regular council meeting, minutes of which  were distributed to all Brother Knights. Mikala will organize the overall auction effort and  provide a turnkey platform for the online auction. Mary, who is familiar with YCA from a user’s  perspective, has offered to manage our auction. DGK Bob Mohle is the point of contact for  Council 7243.

OUR EVENT WILL BE HERE SOONER THAN WE THINK, 10/7/2021 – 10/10/2021.

We are off to an impressive start on auction items due to Bob’s efforts to secure donations to the  auction at a fair market value (FMV) of $3,650. It is up to the remainder of our Brother Knights  to follow Bob’s lead and pitch in to secure more auction items.

Suggestions from the May 10th pre-council meeting for donations from Brother Knights include:  Gift certificates; Items which are new, or considered new; Golf packages; Sports memorabilia;  Posters; Haircut packages; Restaurant gift certificates; Dutch Brothers coffee gift packages; etc.  Think outside the box. We prefer gifts that can be picked up in person, or sent via email. Items

can be shipped, but we need to include shipping cost in the fair market value. All the Council  7243 procured items return 85% of the winning bid price to the council. Note: when soliciting  donations emphasize this is a charity auction, and that all proceeds go to charity, including Boys  and Girls Club of the East Valley, St. George Food Pantry, youth scholarship program, priest and  religious support, …

YCA provides items to round out the auction offering. These are typically high value items (see  screen capture below) which provide a return of 15% of each winning bid to the council.t
